Hi All, I'm deeply grateful to be part of this community.
I'm a journalism student trying to build a portfolio for the harrowing world of work. So for this, I started a substack. I write about issues and conversations I feel deserve more nuance. 'Feel' being the world that describes the bodily experience of writing, not from a moral superiority point of view.
I sincerely invite you to subscribe to my Substack, the link below will direct to one of my essays. Your support will be invaluable in this journey. Rest assured, all content is freely accessible.
Thank you for being a part of my growth and aspirations.
This is so, so good! I also subscribed and added you as one of my recommendations. I was considering writing my next piece on desirability as well so you've inspired me! Thank you for sharing!
I enjoyed reading this essay, well done on getting it out it was well articulated. As someone who has used dating apps hoping to find connections with depth I can elate to this.
I just started a life and mindset coaching business to help overthinkers of color stop being ruled by their harsh inner critic & reduce their anxiety so they can finally take intentional action towards the life of their dreams.
The focus of my platform is self-compassion. I help my clients turn their inner critic into a compassionate inner coach. When we have compassion for ourselves, that compassion naturally flows out to the other beings around us. So many of our problems in society are due to systemic individualization, which by its very nature is devoid of compassion.
They need us discompassionate to perpetuate homelessness.
They need us discompassionate to perpetuate poverty.
They need us discompassionate to perpetuate the exploitation this system is built on and fueled by.
Compassionate people move society forward. I want to help more people discover self-compassion, the mental and emotional environment self-compassion creates, and compassion for others by proxy.
Society teaches us to compete and dominate each other. I want to help people recognize another way forward through assisting & uplifting each other. π
The formatting is going to be wonky if you are on a iphone ! But this piece is analyzing culture in an east asian context from a cultural psychology standpoint. I do so by watching a japanese reality tv show and reviewing cultural psychology studies and seeing if I can find any real life examples. I also did one comparing studies to an american book, which i think you will find interesting because it challenges the notion of shame you were recently talking about in your recent instagram post ! I love your substack and let me know if you read it !
As somebody from a face culture (I'm East Asian), this was enjoyable to read and think about how it rings true for me. Do you want any other kinds of feedback?
I liked it! Small thing but I think in the later sections, you repeat the word "independent" when I think you mean "interdependent"? And I think that there could be some improvement on making the transitions between the different sections of the later parts feel more natural. But other than that, it's really good! I hope that feedback is helpful? Is it for a class?
Hi all! Ayanda, you incredible incredible being thank you for creating this space for us to bring our offerings.
Please see the link to my new project which Iβve just launched. Itβll be a place for me to share my poems and thoughts on poems that have moved me and will no doubt move me in future
This is the link to my first post. Please read it, leave your thoughts if you feel moved to do so and come along on the journey if poetry and conversations on poetry sounds like itβll be up your alley!
So grateful to be a part of this community of creators. Iβm looking forward to settling into bed with a cup of tea and engaging with your creations!
Hi everyone ππ I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday ! I published my first tale on substack, itβs a bit of a crazy story full of cute characters and I would love to get some outside feedbacks :) also just having a few person read my text would mean a lot lot lot to me πππ itβs my last and only post on substack if you click on my profile :)
your narration style is really interesting and unconventional! it made me smile! the story was chaotic and playful, which i also loved. the multimedia element was also a nice touch - would love to see more images in the next story, or more descriptive writing.
Hi All, I am so delighted to be part of this community.
I am currently in a phase in my life where I feel the need to cultivate deep and meaningful connections. I've always been the shy and reserved girl and so I never got the opportunity to have any of those relationships growing up. It somehow feels like I've lived most of my life in my head. I have grown to discover who I am in relation to others and found my voice in the process and feel moved to share myself with others. As a result I started a podcast called Conversations on Becoming, it is dedicated to my journey of self discovery. Intentionally pursuing opportunities, people and the reality that I would love to see manifest.
Please have a listen to my podcast and feel free to reach out for a chat. I love hearing other people's stories and perspectives, I feel somehow validated because I get to learn that I am not alone. Thank you everyone βΊοΈ
I listened to your βOh to be seenβ episode on my walk home from my yoga class and it felt like an extended mediation! GIRL, keep going. Subscribed and looking forward to future episodes!
I relate to you so much! I feel the exact same - like I have lived most of my life in my head and I've missed out on a lot of things growing up. I subscribed! Can't wait to listen to your work:)
Thank you for providing this opportunity for us to share our work! πππ

Hello everyone, I was so incredibly happy to see this post this morning!
Community is just what I needed. Recently, I decided to return to writing as my passion and focus on it being my career. This transition has been trying and is forcing me to look deeper into who I am and what I want from life. My writing is following the journey of balancing out the intrusive thoughts with my strong desire to live a fulfilled life.
Thank you for pausing to read and I hope to connect more in the future!
hi all! I'm writing a new post for my substack about the Barbie movie looking at white femininity. Basically, how was white femininity as a the ideal womanhood impact women and how does the movie highlight this? you can find it here when it's published: https://blackkettle.substack.com/
This is for those of you that enjoy socio-political commentary, and have an appreciation for sarcasm...
βπΎHi! name is Asisa Kadiri, and a couple of months ago I started my Substack newsletter "Issue no.1" as a release for some of my frustrations with our world that (as a relatively young person) I am only just getting to know.
βπΎ Mostly I centralise my issues as they affect us all, as westernised politics and ideology continue to shape as well as pose an attack against our varying identities. As a philosophy student, I often times cannot help but thread my musings with metaphysical sentiments, but perhaps this can attract a unique audience...
βπΎFor those interested, I'm always looking for interaction as far as discussion or the possibility of debate- In my 'chat' column I have posted two prompts already for those wishing to engage.
I am mostly looking to incite further discourse online as given the nature of the problems we're collectively facing, dialogue is always incredibly useful in spreading information and promoting progress...
aloha friends! love this initiative :) i just released my second ebook, the first one was about healing burnout from a holistic approach and this one is to help others improve their relationship with movement, nutrition and their own bodies. i want to show people that wellness is for EVERYONE and that it can be an enjoyable and sustainable lifelong journey! i donβt believe in diets and restrictions and want to help deconstruct diet culture and the pursuit of a βperfectβ body. hereβs the link!!

Hi everyone! I was so excited to see this post. I'm in Japan so my timing is a bit wonky. I definitely need community. I'm currently unemployed but I'm trying to start an online language and life coaching school to help particularly Japanese women who want to upskill or process the difficult stuff they've been avoiding, so that they can live their best most fulfilling lives.
On my ig I mostly talk about the all women Takarazuka Revue and CPTSD+ trauma processing.
I've also got @naze_dana which is focused on language learning and a tiktok (@karaverite)where I mostly talk about Western attitudes in psychology, the connection with trauma and culture, spirituality and magic.
I speak 7 languages and I love connecting with people. Currently trying to figure out how to improve the quality of life in my immediate space in Japan.
So nice to meet everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful day β¨
